Choose a book by the question you have

A practical route through a varied catalog, from a personal story to a technical series.

Give the shelf a purpose

A varied catalog can be easier to navigate when you begin with your own question. Are you looking for a personal story, a subject introduction, a structured technical path or a work of fiction? Those are different reading experiences. Choosing the right kind of experience matters before choosing the format.

On this site, Built by Blueprint is the personal-story title. The Practical Gold Book titles organize a precious-metals reading path, while The White Hat Bible is a numbered technical series. The catalog also includes fiction and books on other subjects. The book pages preserve each published title and author name so that the retailer listing can be checked directly.

Choose the work, then the edition

A work can appear as Kindle, paperback or hardcover. The format label and ASIN identify the particular listing, while the title identifies the work you intended to find. Before purchasing, check the retailer's description, sample, price and current availability. A link in a catalog is a route to that check, rather than a promise about today's stock.

When a book is part of a series, look at the volume number and subtitle together. Decide whether you want a foundation or a narrower subject. There is no need to purchase an entire series to answer one question; start with the volume whose description and sample fit the work you want to do.

Make a small reading plan

Choose a realistic first session and one question for it. A short introduction can help you decide whether a longer study plan is worthwhile. Keep notes on unfamiliar terms and follow the source references when you need more detail.

The companion resources here are original worksheets for organizing that reading. They are separate from the books, and the free starter works on its own. If a title does not match your needs, use the catalog to explore a different subject rather than forcing a reading plan around a purchase.
